As the main direction of the development of new generation mobile communication technologies, 5G will become an important driving force for promoting national economic and social development and promoting industrial transformation and upgrading.Because whether it is smart manufacturing, VR or other internet of vehicles(IVO)& internet of things(IOT), it is based on 5G as the most basic carrier. The importance of 5G can be realized by understanding the difference between 5G and 4G(the previous generation):

1.High rate

With a peak rate of over 10 GBPS and a user rate of 100 Mbps to 1 Gbps, mobile HD, VR/AR, real-time holographic projection and other extreme experiences can be realized.

2.Low latency

The network delay is less than 1 millisecond, which is far less than 50 milliseconds in the 4G era, so as to meet the stringent requirements for delays in IVO, internet of smart manufacturing industry , and telemedicine. Just think, if long delay, the car may have been drived a few meters away, not to mention the high precision of manufacturing high-tech, medical equipment needs.

3.Mass links
They can link 1 million units per square kilometer to meet the needs of the Internet of Everything. In the near future,in addition to mobile & computers, home networked devices and various home appliances may have to be connected to the network.

Therefore, various high-tech products, as long as their needs for mobile communications technology, are inseparable from the 5G.

The government attaches great importance to the development of 5G and clearly puts forward requirements for accelerating China's 5G development. The national "13th Five-Year Plan" outline points out that we must actively promote the development of 5G. In 2020, 5G commercial use, and documents such as China's Manufacturing 2025, Outline of National Informatization Development Strategy, Information and Communication Industry “Thirteenth Five-Year Plan” will be launched, and relevant deployments will be made for 5G technology R&D, standards, and industrialization.

Compared with 4G technology, 5G networks have stronger performance and support ultra high-speed, ultra-low latency, and large-scale connection application scenarios. In the past two years, the generally low growth rate of smart phones, PCs, tablet computers, and consumer electronics products have weakened the pulling effect on the PCB market, leading to a decrease in PCB demand. The emergence of 5G applications will have extraordinary potential to drive the future growth of the PCB industry.

From the layout above we can see that China is setting 5G world standards. 5G leads the trend of the Internet of Things and masters the core 5G leading technology, ensuring that China's communications technology will be at the leading position in the world for at least 10 years in the future, which can also provide China's PCB industry with a superior geographical advantage and a guarantee for the exchange of advanced technologies.

5G will bring hundreds of millions of times of value growth to China's PCB industry. China's digital development will be easier and it will invest more in the Internet industry to stimulate data consumption and increase national competitiveness.

At present, "China's 5G has achieved preliminary results through the second phase of technical trials. The next focus is on pre-commercial phase technology experiment and testing. This is an important stage for China's 5G to mature." It is understood that China has started to address the drafting of the test specification for the third phase of the test was completed, and the 5G test environment construction, transmission and construction were fully started, and the test environment construction was completed in March. The third phase test was started in the first quarter of 2018.
